On February 3rd, 2017 over 170 students, industry professionals, and guests made their way to the Annual Student Night & Job Fair held this year at the Conga Room in Downtown Los Angeles. Students from Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, CSUN, Loyola Marymount UCI, UCLA, and USC as well as 17 corporate sponsors enjoyed a night of networking and the celebration of student accomplishments. Los Angeles ASCE presidents, LADOT Principle Engineer Zaki Mustafa gave their insights on the importance of civil engineering to the young students and we also enjoyed a guest appearance from Region 9 Governor Jay Higgins.
SNJF is an opportunity to celebrate the ways in which students are going above and beyond in the field of Civil Engineering and LA YMF is proud to assist them in their professional pursuits. Throughout the night various individual scholarships were awarded to the top applicants. CSUN won the award for most student members in attendance and earned a cash prize to go towards PSWC, and UCLA won Outstanding Student Chapter of the Year.
After night was over, our members enjoyed a night of dancing that the Conga Room knew best.
The wonderful night would not have been possible without all the volunteers, sponsors, and attendees.
