About Us

The Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch Younger Member Forum (MLAB YMF) provides an opportunity for young civil engineers to become familiar with the civil engineering community and get involved in ASCE early in their careers. The official age range is 35 and younger, but we welcome those that are young at heart. Our goal is to capture the enthusiasm we all had as college students and build a coalition of successful young engineers.

MLAB YMF allows younger engineers to interact socially, provide business contacts and create a bridge between the Student Chapters and the Section by encouraging students to join ASCE after graduation. In addition, MLAB YMF provides younger members with recognition from their professional society and their peers.

Our Mission

To facilitate a voice to younger members’ issues and concerns at the national and grass root levels. As a result, it will promote participation, increase membership activities, and encourage students to transfer to younger member status to secure the future of MLAB YMF and the Section. Increase participation from the membership in public issues will foster involvement of younger members and raised media attention in the public policy arena.

Your Support

The continued support of our sponsors, members and friends is vital to the advancement of our group. Your support has allowed us to continue the promotion of civil engineering throughout our communities, our future generations and amongst our collogues. Be sure that your sponsorship will allow us to continue hosting events such as our annual student scholarship awards banquet, K-12 student outreach visits, community service, technical presentations, Job Fair, etc. Thank you for your continued support, it means the world to us.
