Join LA YMF as we tour the ongoing demolition and replacement of the Riverside Drive Viaduct. Engineers from the City of Los Angeles HNTB, and FPL and Associates will lead the group on a walking tour to explore the enormous planning and construction effort involved in replacing this Viaduct in the City of Los Angeles, while simultaneously maintaining two-way vehicular traffic across the LA River, Avenue 19, and Metrolink and Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

The ASCE Centennial Committee invites you to an exclusive guided tour of the Los Angeles Aqueduct facilities. This is an unique opportunity to learn about the history and engineering marvels of the LA Aqueduct which serves as LA's vital water source.  Just like the ASCE LA Section, the Los Angles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is also celebrating the LA Aqueduct's 100th anniversary!

This is a 3 days, 2 nights guided tour with several stops at facilities as far as Mono Lake. The cost of the event is $400 which includes 2 nights of lodging, food and transportation. YMF's Board Meetings are the second Tuesday of every month (with the exception this upcoming May 7th Board meeting) at the City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works building (1149 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015) in downtown Los Angeles in the 7th floor conference room.

You are invited to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the City of Pasadena's beloved landmark, the Colorado Street Bridge. The City of Pasadena will also be celebrating its 127th birthday. The event will be held at the Pasadena Museum of History (470 W. Walnut Street, Pasadena, CA 91103). Admissions is FREE and includes entertainment and activities that explore the Bridges to Community, Exploration, Health, History, Imagination, and Understanding. This event is fun for all ages!

Join LA YMF for this FREE tour of the iconic Morris Dam and the $10.5M Inlet/Outlet Rehabilitation Project. The project features have modernized the dam to provide long-term reliability and allow for more than 5,000 acre-feet of additional operating capacity for flood control and storm water capture to enhance sustainability of local water supply. We will be meeting at the LA County Headquarters in Alhambra for a brief presentation before driving up to the dam, located just north of the City of Azusa.

Join LA YMF for the March monthly happy hour at the Corkbar (403 West 12th St., Los Angeles, CA 90015) in Dowtown Los Angeles. The Corkbar has around 70 wines, a dozen artisanal beers and farmer's market food menu (restaurant happy hour is from 4:00pm-7:00pm) in the EVO building. This event is open to everyone, so bring your friends, colleagues, or fellow banditos. Enjoy the longer daylight with some grub and pair it with a cold drink as you mingle with the new and familiar faces of this vibrant crowd.

Join the ASCE Los Angeles Section Younger Member Forum (YMF) Groups (Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino/Riverside, Santa Barbara/Ventura, Southern San Joaquin) at the Pomona Fairplex from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. We will be hosting a P.E. booth near the center quad of the testing location. Visit our booth for some hand out goodies and to find out more about ASCE and your local Younger Member Group.

After the P.E. exam, join us at the Warehouse Pizza (2340 D Street, La Verne, CA 91750) for a post PE exam social happy hour to unwind, celebrate, relax and network from 5:00-8:00 PM. Free food and drinks will be provided by the YMF groups. Everyone is invited, especially the test takers!
